Filmed at the Church of the Holy Trinity in NYC’s Upper West Side, Sylvan LaCue battles to find peace in his painstaking visual for “Fall From Grace.” The single, which is from LaCue’s forthcoming Far From Familiar album due this spring, finds the 25-year-old reflecting on a self-realization that’s occurred over the past year. “‘Fall From Grace’ captures Sylvan’s newfound sense of confidence and determination,” Mass Appeal notes in their premiere post, adding “he’s not afraid that he’s showed up to the proverbial party solo, evidenced in his tireless rapping.” Formerly performing and releasing music as QuESt, he abandoned his deal with Logic’s Visionary Music Group in Dec. ’14 while deciding to space the spiraling madness of Los Angeles in favor of a return to his Miami roots. ”I find my calmness in times of uncertainty by myself alone during late nights,” he explains. “I can pray, speak to God, and remind myself of what’s most important. I mentally operate better when I’m left alone.”

“Me and my team actually scouted the chapel online while I spent time finishing my project,” Sylvan LaCue notes of the location where the “Fall From Grace” video was filmed. “We spoke to the manager and explained our concept and they allowed us to film inside, which was a blessing.” As for how he went about re-connecting with hometown roots, LaCue adds: “Being in Los Angeles and living the life I was leading and being completely wrapped up in this QuESt persona I built for myself, I always knew I was losing my way. The industry parties, being caught up in my own vision, not talking to loved ones, the ego inflation, over drinking, etc. Now I’m consciously learning how to keep it real with myself at all times. My faith in God, and keeping authentic people around me who aren’t afraid to tell me the truth keeps me grounded. After going through that mindset, and really choosing to embrace who I really am, it’s made persevering and progressing much easier.”
