Double A Presents: BYSM hosted by Shawty Lo

Apryl “Double A” Adams Presents Break Yo Self hosted by Shawty Lo

cosigning up-and-coming artists with major superstars

The streets have always dictated the direction of tomorrow’s rap music. Before the major label record deals, screaming fans on tour and million-dollar music videos, artists relied on the streets to A&R mixtapes to determine the next superstar rapper.

Take Young Jeezy’s Tha Streets Iz WatchinT.I’s Down With the King or Wiz Kalifa’sKush & OJ, for example. These street-certified staples first became favorites on the underground before blowing the rappers’ careers into the stratosphere. In today’s ever-changing rap game, mixtapes still dictate tomorrow’s celebrities.

And the recently released Apryl “Double A” Adams Presents Break Yo Self hosted by Shawty Lo is destined to be one of the most influential mixtapes this year. With 25 of the hottest tracks from neophyte hot spitters to veterans MCs, there is no need for the skip button. Break Yo Self is non-stop neck-jerking fire.

The mixtape opens with an intro from the late, great Shawty Lo on the mid-tempo riding track “For the Money.” Atop piercing synthesizers and low, guttural pipe organs, RaRa trades verses back-and-forth with T.I. in steady, tongue-flipping cadence. And that’s just the first track.

From Trae Tha Truth’s introspective “Changed on Me”, to Project Pat’s grimy “Thug Boyz” featuring Eearz and Cory Gunz to new comer Ann Maries’ R&B banger “Nobody,” featuring Lil Durk. Closing out with Puff Daddy in the All Eyez On Me Tupac Biopic movie actor-singer-producer Stefon  “GooseBumps” featuring Yung Joc respectfully Shawty Lo was reference, every track goes harder than the last with young bulls holding their own alongside the veterans.

Break Yo Self is a way for indie artists to make a name for themselves and not wait for anyone to discover them or put them on,” explains mixtape A&R Adams. “And I was blessed enough to get Shawty Lo’s cosign for the mixtape before his untimely passing.

The first in a series of installments to come, Apryl “Double A” Adams Presents Break Yo Self is only the beginning. With more additions ready to be released, this is the start of the next big thing in rap music.
