|Super-duo AOE (Ambassadors of Earth) release their debut EP Homecoming today via Def Jam. Formed by multi-talented Phil Beaudreau and Grammy Award-winning producer Dawaun Parker, AOE merges their individual expertise to create a project that features a mélange of sound pushing the envelope to the future while rooted in the musicality of past influences from jazz, R&B, rap and rock.
Shaping the vision of the project, Beaudreau (songwriter, instrumentalist, singer) brought AOE to life with a killer animated video at the top of the year for the single “I’m Right This Time“. Parker’s catalogue of production work includes collaborations with Eminem, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar and Jay Z; now he contributes his flair to his shared artistic endeavor. The concept of the EP builds on the fusion of sight and sound, expressing their combined spirit through an entity that defies the norm. AOE will be playing Def Jam’s Direct Deposit Live 2017 SXSW Showcase on Thursday, March 16th at 7:00pm. They will also be playing their first New York show in Brooklyn on March 27th at Baby’s All Right.
The two traveled parallel to each other. Both grew in Rhode Island and studied music at Berklee College in Boston but never met until finally crossing paths in Los Angeles years later, only to realize they had the same curiosities and vision for the future. The long-time-coming EP explores their urgent desire to comprehend the world around them in the best way they know how. Experience Homecoming now.
AOE’s Mission Statement:
“We are ambassadors for the artists. The creators. The storytellers. We are ambassadors for those who seek meaning in experience. We make music for the heart and visuals for the mind’s eye. We are AOE.”
